According to a US Census report released in October 2005, it was reported that in 2003, almost two thirds of American households had at least one computer and that almost 55% of households had internet access. Not only are there an increasing number of households with internet access over the last five years but consumers are using the internet more and more to learn about products and services before they even leave their home.
Bottom line..... If you don’t have a website, you are already behind your competition.
But, just having a website doesn’t mean you will triple your business overnight (Regardless of what some website design companies might tell you.) Your website is a (virtual) storefront. You still need to let everyone know where to find you. This means putting your internet address (URL) on all of your business related materials such as letterheads, faxes, business cards, as well as any advertising materials such as yellow pages, radio, television, print ads and anywhere else your business name might be mentioned.
